About setting day/date..

On the Pressmatic you can quickly set the date (the only thing that changes every month) by pushing in the hex crown. It also has a semi quick set function for the day of the week. Pull the crown to the hand set position and move the hands clockwise to midnight and watch the day and date change. Now move the hands counter clockwise to the 8 o clock position. You should see the day almost change back to the previous day but at the last moment it will click. This is your cue to wind clockwise to midnight to change to the next day. Repeat the midnignt to eight to midnight to eight until you have the correct day. Now set the date with the crown.

This will save alot of wear on the cannon pinion and watch.

Remember, forward to midnight, back to eight, forward to midnight..

PS the Presssmatic is an extremely high-end seiko which came with a chronometer rating (look it up on the web!)
